Cuatro Puntos tour to South America, August 10-30, 2014!
www.cuatropuntos.org

In August of 2013, a group of musicians from our chamber music ensemble Cuatro Puntos visited the South American Country of Bolivia. While there we worked with students and performed concerts in three cities. One of the highlights of our visit was working with the students of the Orquestas Sinfónicas de Tarija. This 'El Sistema' music program gives young people the opportunity to spend 4 hours every day after school making music together. The program has two orchestras- a younger group for approximately middle school age children, and another group for high school age children.

Being able to share some of our training and experience with these students was one of the most rewarding moments in our lives- both professionally and personally. The audiences we performed for were warm and welcoming, and every concert was extremely well attended.

We are planning to return to Bolivia in August 2014, as well as visit Brazil. Nine teachers will be going, as we want to bring a teacher for each instrument in the Orquestas Sinfónicas de Tarija so that every student may benefit from our visit. We will also be bringing some music supplies- sheet music, rosin, etc.- that is difficult and expensive to come by in Tarija. We will spend a full week in Tarija. We will then spend another full week performing and teaching in other parts of Bolivia, followed by a third week in Brazil.

To cover our portion of expenses to bring our nine Cuatro Puntos musicians, we are raising a total of $30,000. This will come from a series of benefit concerts, gifts, grants, and this online campaign. We hope to raise $10,000 through our online fundraiser.

We have created this online fundraiser and are hosting it ourselves, so you can be assured that 100% of your contribution stays with Cuatro Puntos. Contributions of $100 or more are completely TAX DEDUCTIBLE, as we are a non profit organization that is fiscally sponsored through Fractured Atlas. If you prefer to make a contribution by check, feel free to make your check out to 'Fractured Atlas,' and mail it to:
